“It’s OK” was written in the early 1990’s, but it was too complex for me to do well (barre chords). It only came together late last year when I decided to really try to improve my guitar chops. I went back to my “incomplete” files and this one was at the top of the list.

Is it OK if I care about you
OK if I’m in love with you
Honey, I don’t know
What more I can say
We can make it work
If you just say the word
Say, it’s OK–
They say all is fair in love and war
Who’s ahead, what’s the score
Honey, you know to me
Love is not a game
Please let down your guard
I love you so–– hard
Say, it’s OK, it’s OK–
We both have our needs
We both have our moods
So different, so much the same
Sometimes you make me feel
Like a clumsy fool
Sometimes you make me feel
So great.
And in the night when it’s just you and me
I’m the luckiest guy in history
That’s when I know
I’ve got it made
When you hold my hand
And say you understand
It’s OK, it’s OK–
We both have our needs
We both have our moods
Or is it the way we’re made
Sometimes you make me feel
Like a clumsy fool
Sometimes you make me feel
So great––
And any time you find you’re needin’ me
But I’m too preoccupied to see
Honey, you know I want to give
More than I take
Love’s a full time job
We can beat the odds
Say, it’s OK–, it’s OK,
It’s OK–, it’s OKaaay
