Company History

Castalia Communications was founded in 1980 by William “Scott” Morrison to produce The Guitar Poster, a marriage of fine art and an innovative presentation of music theory that “Puts the answers on your wall!” Like a musical roadmap, the cross-reference system developed for The Guitar Poster allows anyone to find and play any chord or scale, in any key, anywhere on the instrument, even if they don’t read music. After the success of The Guitar Poster, Castalia’s team developed and produced teaching aides for other instruments, including Keyboard, Rock Guitar, Electric Bass, MIDI, Saxophone, Music Theory and Eight Ball posters. Castalia’s posters have been featured in dozens of films and television shows, including the hit movie Mr. Holland’s Opus starring Richard Dreyfuss and the TV series Boston Public

The company has also produced many other products, including founder Scott Morrison’s novels The Energy Caper, or Nixon in the Sky with Diamonds and the recently published Luck of the Draw.
